My Girl Guide Rose is blooming

The Girl Guide rose is a floribunda rose bush that was carried exclusively by the gardening centres White Rose who are no longer in business.

According to their home and garden guide from 2002, the Girl Guide rose is "an everblooming rose that produces masses of fragrant, orange-salmon blooms with a pink flush in the centre. A true sweetheart rose."

Mine was given to me the year I received my Girl Guides of Canada Silver Merit award and is very special to me. I'm not a great gardener, though, so worry each year that this rose may not survive my terrible gardening skills.

These photos are from the first blooms this year.

They are now fading, and making room for the next blooms ... but I'll have to get the pest-getter-ridder-of stuff out because something is eating the greenery and the plant does not look happy.

Her dream has been chosen as one of the top 10 and requires votes to win.

VOTING ENDS JUNE 12TH!!

What a neat dream...WE CAN help her by casting our vote!

Russia this week. Austria last week. Next week...?

No, I'm not on a 'round the world trip. :) These are the countries I've been selling to! From my Etsy shops!

This week I mailed an item to Russia.

Last week, I mailed to Austria and the UK.

The week before it was Wales and Ireland, and the week before that the Netherlands.

There were also sales to different states in the US - New York, Washington, Washington DC, Ohio, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Michigan, and Alabama. I've shipped to other states too, but not in the last month or two.

And in Canada, to British Columbia recently, but to other provinces in other months.

So, I've decided to add a list of countries to my blog! and states in the US and provinces in Canada. and show where I've been shipping. It's so exciting to see all the different places, whether it's close or far, it's still exciting.

For a great shopping experience, shop at my Etsy shops!

My Garden - Pasque flower Shadow

I thought it was pretty cool how the Pasque flower's shadow was on this rock - totally random and looked great! So I grabbed my camera for this shot.
The flowers have gone to seed - I have to remember to gather them all before I have millions more plants next year.
For photos of my garden for sale, please visit the Photography Boutique in my etsy shop.

Etsy Knitters Teams says 'I Do' again

The Etsy Knitters Team says: ‘I DO’ … To ETSY’S 2009 Handmade Wedding Series.

For the 2nd year in a row, the Etsy Knitters Team, an international group of talented and successful knitters, has challenged its members to create items that represent the love and beauty of a wedding through the art of knitting.

Throughout the month of June 2009, members of the Etsy Knitters Team will present handmade wedding items to the public through Etsy.com. These items will encompass a wide range of wedding finery including bridal accessories, traditional wedding fare and even special items for the honeymoon. The stipulation to each member is
“If you can dream it and it can represent the art of knitting, then one is encouraged to partake in the ‘I Do’ Wedding Challenge.”

The catalyst for the Etsy Knitters Team’s ‘I Do’ wedding challenge was Etsy.com’s Handmade Wedding Series. Rather than participate individually, the team felt that they could be more successful promoting their hand knit wedding items if they collaborated. After countless hours of designing and knitting, the Etsy Knitters Team is proud to present the ‘I Do’ Wedding Challenge.
To search for challenge items, please type in the words “ido2009” and “etsyknitters team” into Etsy’s search engine or click this link.
Members will be listing their offerings to the challenge throughout the entire month. Each item will include the special ‘I Do 2009” Wedding Challenge graphic as the 5th photo. Be sure to visit Etsy and search often.

My first wedding item is this white lacy handknit bookmark.
Hopefully I'll have time to make and add more!
